After-Hours Care Options
There are a number of options if you require urgent care after clinic hours.
811 : HealthLink : http://811.novascotia.ca/
If you are unsure what to do, try 811. When you call 811, Registered Nurses will give you the advice and information you need and provide reassurance concerning general health issues. This may include a recommendation to see your doctor or visit your local emergency department. You can also obtain information about health services available in your community.
Cole Harbour Family Medicine Duty Clinic
Monday to Thursday evenings, the clinic runs a urgent care duty clinic. Each evening there are same day appointments available by appointment.
- CHFMC patients only
- NO forms will be completed at Duty
- No controlled substances will be refilled. examples are opioids such as hydromorophone/dilaudid, ADHD meds or lorazepam/ativan.
-New, urgent, non-life-threating medical issues. i.e. sore throats with mild pain
coughs and colds
earaches
bladder infection
rashes
minor wounds or injuries, insect bites or stings
Weekend Urgent Care Centre at Woodlawn Medical Centre
This clinic is staffed by a group of Dartmouth physicians, including Cole Harbour Family Medicine, and is committed to providing quality after hours care to patients.This is the preferred option for our patients for care Friday evenings (5-9 pm), weekends and holidays (9-5 pm). The clinic is located at Woodlawn Medical Centre, 92 Main Street, Dartmouth. To book an appointment call (902) 434-1500.
